Robert W. Woodruff Dean's Achievement Scholars (DAS) Program

The Robert W. Woodruff Dean’s Achievement Scholars (DAS) program at Emory College of Arts and Sciences is a merit-based scholarship initiative designed to recognize first-year students who have demonstrated outstanding academic success and embody the Emory Scholar Qualities: intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, servant leadership, communication skills, and commitment to community.

Approximately twenty rising sophomore students are selected annually as Woodruff DAS Scholar Finalists, each receiving a $10,000 merit-based tuition scholarship for their sophomore year. This scholarship is renewable for the junior and senior years in any of Emory University’s undergraduate schools, including Emory College, Goizueta Business School, or the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. Following an interview process, three Emory College students and one Oxford College student are chosen as Robert W. Woodruff Dean’s Achievement Scholars. These scholars become members of the Emory Scholars Program early in their sophomore year, and their $10,000 award is replaced with the Robert W. Woodruff merit scholarship, which covers full tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board for the remaining undergraduate years.
