The Mellon Humanities Collaboratory at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) offers a 10-week summer research program for undergraduate students from community colleges across the United States. Participants engage in independent research projects within various humanities disciplines, fostering a collaborative and interdisciplinary academic environment.

Established in 2017 with funding from the Mellon Foundation and the Leadership Alliance, the Collaboratory enables students to design and develop research projects in humanities fields such as History, History of Art, English, Media Studies, Modern Languages and Literatures, Philosophy, and more. The program emphasizes peer modeling and collaborative learning, moving beyond traditional one-to-one mentorship to develop undergraduates as subject experts.
