Meharry Mentored Research Program in the Structural Biology of Human Pathogens

The Meharry Mentored Research Program in the Structural Biology of Human Pathogens (MMRP) is a 10-week intensive, hands-on research experience designed for undergraduate students, including those from community colleges. The program aims to expose students to the field of structural biology and its critical role in combating infectious diseases. Participants will engage in skills development courses, gain research experience, and receive mentoring.

Participants will receive training in X-ray crystallography, participate in mini-courses and workshops in structural biology with program partners such as Stanford SSRL SLAC, NE-CAT, Schrodinger, and SBGrid at Harvard Medical School, and engage in career development opportunities.

  • US citizen or permanent residents
  • Interested in pursuing PhD or MD/PhD
  • Interest in pursuing a career in NIAID related research
  • Undergraduate applicants should be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior at a degree granting program at a college/university in the USA and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
